The twelve story tree

On the first day of Christmas, 
Carol put up a twelve story Christmas tree.

On the second day came two clouds,
to rain stars all over the Christmas tree.

On the third day came three giraffes,
standing on top of each other to paint the story three,
of the starry Christmas tree.

On the fourth day came four firemen,
with long noses and strong hoses,
to spray sparkles all over the golden story three
of the starry Christmas tree.

On the fifth day came five elephants,
with fifty-five ornaments 
in their five trunks,
to decorate the starry, sparkly, golden
Christmas tree.

On the sixth day 
came six children,
with six magical tunes 
that they gave
to the starry, sparkly, golden 
Christmas tree.

On the seventh day 
came the seven dwarfs,
with seven diamonds 
that they stuck 
to the trunk 
of the starry, sparkly, golden,
singing Christmas tree.

On the eighth day 
came eight reindeers,
with eight lanterns 
that they hung
on the story eight 
of the shiny, starry, 
sparkly, golden, singing 
Christmas tree.

On the ninth day 
came nine cats,
with nine lives each, 
to give life 
to the shiny, 
starry, sparkly, 
golden,singing, 
glowing
Christmas tree.

On the tenth day 
came the ten mages,
from the worlds beyond
to sprinkle 
fairy dust and 
golden sand
on the shiny, starry, 
sparkly, golden,
singing, glowing, 
lively Christmas tree.

When day eleven came,
came eleven elves 
from the Pole,
carrying presents 
for all 
that they set beneath the 
shiny, starry, 
sparkly, golden,
singing, glowing, 
lively, magical
Christmas tree.

On the twelfth day came Carol
with every child from the town in tow.
The magical tree sang now
as the kids huddled below
to celebrate a warm Christmas
in each others hugs.
